Excellent! Delicious we love the Granny toasted cheese special with tomatoe soup. It was surprisingly delicious it has some sliced thin apples with some sauce that was sweet with that melted cheese. It was perfect with the soup. Then also got the veggie Naan. We made sure for lunch we got to try the special as much as we could it was great for the weather. Something warm and cozy. I still haven't tried few sandwiches that is on my list but I will soon.

Had a great experience at the brown bag bistro! The menu is filled with unique items and there is something for everyone. I got the granny grilled cheese which had apples, brown butter aioli and cheese that came with tomato soup. It was beyond delicious. My husband got the turkey Rueben which was so filling and that slaw was amazing. Cheese bread is super cheese y and I love the red sauce that came with it. You can't beat a good ceaser salad as well. They have a wonderful patio, indoor seating and seating above their store next door. Our service was great and we got a lot of food and it didn't take long on a busier Saturday.

We were out for a Saturday drive. We happened to come across the Brown Bag Bistro. I had the Wadlow sandwich, tomato soup, and lemon blueberry gooey butter cake. Julie had the grilled ham and cheese, lobster bisque and cheese cake. The food was absolutely the best. The dessert was delicious. We have found our new favorite lunch stop. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Brown Bag Bistro from the staff to the food is the closest thing to prefect you will find. Thank You for a wonderful lunch experience.

One of the best sandwiches I’ve had in my 44 years on this earth. The Bistro Club is an absolute work of sandwich art—seriously impressive. Take notes, Subway! I was in Alton for a meeting and stopped in during the lunch rush. The line was nearly out the door, but the staff kept things moving and orders were coming out like clockwork. Great atmosphere, excellent service, and outstanding food. If you’re looking for a great sandwich in Alton, this place is a must-stop. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town.

This is a charming bistro in downtown Alton, IL with a cozy interior and large outdoor patio as well. The sandwiches here are among the best I’ve ever had. Granny’s grilled cheese is my favorite! 3 kinds of cheese, thin sliced apples and an amazing brown sugar aoli - perfection! But you can’t go wrong with any of their sandwiches. If you haven’t been, it needs to be your next lunch out.
